Look of the Day: marrone e bianco, il neutro che non annoia mai
Ci sono combinazioni che sembrano semplici proprio perché funzionano bene. Marrone e bianco è una di queste.
Nel Look of the Day di oggi indosso un outfit Overground costruito su volumi morbidi e colori neutri: pantalone marrone dalla linea rilassata, top bianco ampio e giacca coordinata. Un insieme contemporaneo, comodo e molto facile da vivere durante la giornata.
Marrone + bianco: perché funziona
Il bianco illumina e alleggerisce. Il marrone scalda il look e gli dà profondità. Insieme creano un contrasto elegante senza essere rigido, perfetto se si vuole un risultato curato ma non troppo costruito.
Mi piace soprattutto il gioco delle proporzioni: il top morbido lascia libertà, il pantalone cade senza costringere e la giacca aggiunge struttura quando serve.
Dopo i 40: comfort e stile possono stare benissimo insieme
Più passa il tempo, meno mi interessano le regole che dicono cosa si dovrebbe o non si dovrebbe indossare a una certa età. Mi interessa molto di più capire se un capo cade bene, se mi lascia muovere e se mi rappresenta davvero.
Questo è il tipo di look che amo oggi: facile, moderno, femminile senza doverlo dichiarare.
Gli accessori che sceglierei
Con questo outfit starei su accessori puliti. Oro caldo se voglio renderlo più elegante, oppure metallo scuro se voglio mantenerlo più urbano.
Per la borsa sceglierei cuoio, cognac, panna o cioccolato. Una borsa strutturata rende subito il look più business; una morbida lo porta invece verso un mood più casual.
Ai piedi, nel video porto una scarpa nera chunky che dà carattere e rende il look più contemporaneo. Ma funzionerebbero bene anche un mocassino, uno stivaletto in pelle o una sneaker pulita.
E se volessi aggiungere colore?
Bordeaux, verde oliva, ruggine e azzurro polvere sono quattro colori che abbinerei volentieri a questa base neutra. Basta una borsa, un foulard o un piccolo gioiello colorato per cambiare completamente il tono dell’outfit.
Lo stile, per me, funziona quando smette di sembrare uno sforzo.

Some combinations look effortless precisely because they work so well. Brown and white is one of them.
For today’s Look of the Day, I am wearing an Overground outfit built around soft volumes and neutral tones: relaxed brown trousers, a loose white top and a coordinating jacket. Contemporary, comfortable and very easy to wear throughout the day.
Brown + white: why it works
White brightens and lightens the look. Brown adds warmth and depth. Together they create an elegant contrast without feeling stiff, perfect when you want to look polished without looking overdone.
What I especially like is the play on proportions: the soft top gives freedom, the trousers fall naturally without constricting, and the jacket adds structure whenever you want it.
After 40: comfort and style belong together
The older I get, the less interested I am in rules about what women should or should not wear at a certain age. I care much more about whether a garment falls well, lets me move and genuinely feels like me.
This is the kind of look I love today: easy, modern and feminine without needing to announce it.
The accessories I would choose
With this outfit I would keep the accessories clean and simple. Warm gold if I want to make it more elegant, or darker metal for a more urban feel.
For the bag, I would choose tan, cognac, cream or chocolate brown. A structured bag immediately makes the look more businesslike, while a softer one gives it a more relaxed mood.
In the video I wear a chunky black shoe, which adds character and keeps the look contemporary. A loafer, leather ankle boot or clean sneaker would work equally well.
What if I wanted to add colour?
Burgundy, olive green, rust and powder blue are four colours I would happily add to this neutral base. A bag, scarf or small coloured accessory is enough to completely change the mood.
For me, style works when it stops looking like an effort.
